Role Overview:
The nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, delivering routine and complex care while managing long-term goals and contingencies. They assign and delegate tasks to care providers to ensure effective patient management.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
– Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
– Administer medications and treatments using established protocols, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness.
– Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
– Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
Qualifications & Skills:
– Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
– At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
– Valid RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
