Role Overview: An Inpatient Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in a clinical environment, addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs throughout hospitalization. They complete assessments, develop and coordinate individualized care plans, and deliver treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures in accordance with policies. The RN evaluates intervention effectiveness, collaborates proactively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and participates in evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions and needs following scope of practice and standards.
- Formulate and implement care plans, including patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Provide direct care treatments and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Problem solve equipment issues and participate in unit-based decision-making.
- Engage in safety and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate from a nursing specialty training program (required), Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must demonstrate compassionate care, effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to organizational policies.
Additional Details: Work involves shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend and holiday requirements. The unit features private rooms and handles a broad range of acute to complex medical conditions, supported by 24/7 hospitalist services. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and high-quality patient care.
