Registered Nurse – Acute Care MedSurg Oncology – Charge Nurse – Full Time Night Shift

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care on an assigned shift. They provide clinical leadership, manage staffing, coordinate patient flow, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. The role involves making patient assignments, monitoring care standards, and supporting team development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
  • Perform or oversee the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary communication, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement activities.
  • Manage resources such as equipment and staffing to support patient care needs.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Mentor and serve as a role model for staff, fostering professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Baccalaureate preferred).
  • Valid nursing license (multi-state or single-state as applicable).
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred or as specified.
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 2 years preferred, with clinical leadership experience valued.
  • Strong clinical expertise, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Additional Duties: Promote evidence-based practice, participate in performance improvement, and uphold ethical and safety standards. The role requires proactive resource planning, patient safety focus, and effective collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
