Radiology Technologist MRI – Weekender – Days

Role Overview: An MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis, using radiofrequencies within a magnetic field. They independently conduct or support MRI exams, ensuring patient safety, proper preparation, and accurate data acquisition for licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain correct orders, identify and prepare patients, document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper data storage and transfer.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, and assist with MRI-related procedures.
  • Apply MRI safety principles, participate in safety investigations, and select suitable pulse sequences based on protocols.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT required; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
  • Experience in radiologic technology or MRI preferred; relevant education includes radiologic technology training, with a bachelor’s degree being advantageous.
