Role Overview
This position involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily MRI, in an operating room setting, with a focus on advanced modality techniques. The technologist will prepare patients and equipment, perform studies independently, and oversee shift operations, including workflow and resource management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and equipment for imaging procedures.
- Perform studies independently, including portable and on-call exams.
- Manage daily shift operations, adjust priorities, and escalate technical issues.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff and students.
- Assist in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintaining supplies.
- Delegates tasks and assumes supervisory responsibilities in absence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree or higher in a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Technologist (R.T.(R))) in Radiography or relevant advanced modality certifications.
- 2-5 years of radiology experience; preferred 5-10 years.
- Licenses such as IEMA (excluding MRI), ARRT, BD, CI, VI, and others.
- Experience with MRI machines, especially Siemens MRI technology.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentorship skills.
Key Duties & Requirements
- No call responsibilities.
- Day shift training followed by a rotating schedule, with full-time hours.
- Provides quality control, assists with complex exams, and acts as a liaison between team and supervisor.
- Minimum of an associate degree and relevant certifications required.
- Additional certifications and experience preferred for advanced roles.
