Role Summary: Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, and research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and assisting licensed practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing patients, verifying orders, optimizing imaging protocols with safety principles like ALARA, administering medications when prescribed, evaluating image quality, and managing data transfer and storage.
Key Duties:
- Obtain correct patient identification, prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
- Use appropriate imaging protocols, maximize patient safety, and optimize technical factors.
- Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access under supervision.
- Evaluate image quality, verify proper positioning, and manage data post-processing.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
- Assist practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures across various settings such as operating rooms and ICU.
Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; ARRT-R registration within 6 months for new graduates; ability to perform procedures independently; strong attention to patient safety; and the ability to work in diverse environments.
Additional Information: Ability to advance to level 2 within 24 months is required for applicants hired after a specified date. Education in a related field and commitment to safety, excellence, learning, and innovation are valued traits.
