Radiation Therapist – Full Time

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation treatments to a diverse patient population in accordance with physician prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
  • Perform complex technical procedures, including patient setup, simulation, and treatment delivery with accuracy.
  • Participate in Quality Control monitoring and document procedures in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Assess patient mobility, provide specialty care, and educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.
  • Follow established protocols to ensure patient and staff safety, including wearing radiation badges and practicing universal precautions.
  • Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, set-up, and simulate new or changing treatment fields.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluation and feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • ARRT-T (Radiation Therapy) and BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.

Additional Requirements: Compliance with all organizational policies, standards of work, and conduct is mandatory.
