Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation therapy to a diverse patient population in accordance with physician prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
- Perform complex technical procedures and patient assessments, considering age-specific care.
- Document procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Participate in Quality Control monitoring and follow policies to ensure treatment precision.
- Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.
- Manage patient set-ups, simulate treatments, and schedule appointments.
- Ensure safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and practice universal precautions.
- Assist with additional tasks, participate in on-call rotation, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
