Radiation Therapist

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation therapy to a diverse patient population in accordance with physician prescriptions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
  • Perform complex technical procedures and patient assessments, considering age-specific care.
  • Document procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Participate in Quality Control monitoring and follow policies to ensure treatment precision.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and aids.
  • Manage patient set-ups, simulate treatments, and schedule appointments.
  • Ensure safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and practice universal precautions.
  • Assist with additional tasks, participate in on-call rotation, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
