Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation to patients following physician prescriptions, operating radiation equipment safely, and performing precise technical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Quality Control monitoring and ensure accurate treatment delivery.
- Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialty care tailored to patient age groups.
- Document accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and educate patients/families on treatment side effects and aids.
- Simulate patients for treatment setup, schedule appointments, and communicate changes effectively.
- Follow safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and participate in warm-up procedures to ensure safe operation.
- Recognize limitations, seek assistance when needed, and report adverse reactions immediately.
- Assist with patient mobility, participate in on-call rotations, and act as a clinical instructor for students.
- Comply with organizational policies and perform additional assigned tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Minimum of 2 years radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
