Radiation Therapist

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation therapy to diverse patients in accordance with physician prescriptions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety protocols.
  • Perform complex technical procedures, including patient setup, simulation, and treatment delivery.
  • Participate in Quality Control monitoring to ensure treatment accuracy.
  • Assess patients, provide specialty care considering age-specific needs, and educate patients and families on treatment side effects.
  • Document accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and report adverse reactions immediately.
  • Follow all policies and procedures for precise treatment and safety, including fall precautions and universal safety measures.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, simulate new treatments, and perform other assigned tasks.
  • Contribute as a clinical instructor for students, evaluating and providing feedback.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and adhere to organizational standards of conduct.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • ARRT Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) and BLS certifications required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
