Pulmonary Technologist

Role: Pulmonary Technologist


Responsibilities: Measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures; perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing; serve as a key resource in the Pulmonary Laboratory; implement quality assurance and control programs; train new staff; troubleshoot equipment; ensure compliance with regulatory standards; participate in educational, clinical, and quality improvement initiatives.


Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with respiratory therapy certification, or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health sciences or biology; at least 1 year of experience in a pulmonary function lab; CPR (BLS) certification; credentialing through N.B.R.C. as a respiratory care practitioner or pulmonary function technologist, with ongoing certification maintained.


Skills & Qualities: Strong clinical skills in pulmonary and cardiac testing; ability to work independently; knowledge of quality assurance; troubleshooting proficiency; commitment to continuing education; adherence to regulatory standards; excellent communication and training skills.
