Psychiatrist (Homeless Services)

The Attending Psychiatrist for Homeless Services provides outreach-based psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and system coordination for individuals experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness.

They work in shelters, Safe Havens, on the streets, and community settings to engage vulnerable populations, facilitate access to care, and ensure continuity of psychiatric services.

Responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, consulting with shelter and outreach staff, supporting eligibility determinations for mental health services, and collaborating with interagency teams.

They supervise psychiatric residents, lead educational sessions, and contribute to program development and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications include a state medical license, board eligibility in Psychiatry, experience with homeless populations, and certifications in relevant areas.

Work hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with a competitive salary of $229,528 – $235,000 annually, and opportunities for academic appointment and supervision.
