Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit RN (Full-Time, Night Shift)

Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse in this role provides high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing acute pulmonary conditions, including lung transplants, pulmonary hypertension, ventilator management, and specialized treatments. Working closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team supported by an Advanced Practice Nurse, the nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans, ensuring effective communication across care teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a healing environment through patient and family education on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
  • Participate in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and document care plans with clear goals in collaboration with patients, families, and team members, ensuring seamless communication across care transitions.
  • Utilize critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current RN licensure and a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience not mandatory, but 2+ years of nursing experience is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills essential.
