Role Overview: The physical therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and prevent deformities in patients with disease or injury. Services are delivered across the continuum with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning & Care: Develops and adjusts treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, and provides patient and family education. Offers discharge instructions and referrals as needed.
- Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to evaluate and establish treatment goals, plan of care, and discharge strategies, considering patient and family input.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate records of evaluations, treatment sessions, education, and discharge information following departmental guidelines.
- Professional & Customer Service: Upholds ethical standards, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates effective communication, and fosters teamwork. Applies customer service principles, including AIDET, to ensure positive patient experiences.
- Professional Development: Participates in ongoing education, completes required competencies, and trains new staff. Ensures licensure and certifications are current.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, along with valid PT licensure and BLS certification. Must possess effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
