Physical Therapist – Outpatient Orthopedics

Role Overview:

The Physical Therapist provides comprehensive physical therapy services, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, reassessment, discharge planning, and documentation in various settings. They collaborate with healthcare professionals, communicate effectively with patients and families, and participate in program development and protocol adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and explain findings to patients and families while involving them in goal setting.

  • Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, monitor patient progress, and modify care plans as needed, consulting with other providers when necessary.

  • Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and accurate documentation of all patient interactions, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Manage time efficiently to meet productivity standards, demonstrate flexibility, and deliver patient-centered care with empathy.

  • Engage in continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and mentor new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Licensure in Maryland, DC, or Virginia as required.

  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
