Physical Therapist – Home Health

Role: The Home Health Physical Therapist provides comprehensive physical therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions within an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional, ethical standards, and contributing to program development and quality improvement.

Supervises: Positions such as Physical Therapy Assistant and Home Health Aids.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrate accountability for quality, program development, and productivity in a flexible interdisciplinary setting.
  • Supervise related staff, including PT assistants and home health aides.

Qualifications & Skills: Must be a licensed or qualified Physical Therapist, capable of lifting loads of up to 50 pounds, with mobility and stamina for frequent position changes and patient assistance. Ability to wear protective equipment and handle emergency or infectious situations is required.

Physical & Visual/Hearing Requirements: Ability to see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance, and perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Must meet physical demands with or without accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to infectious diseases, chemicals, and irregular hours may occur. Protective gear is often necessary.
