Role & Responsibilities:
This position involves planning and implementing physical therapy treatment programs across all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, aligned with accepted practices. The therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient care, supervise related staff and trainees, and ensure effective therapy services.
Key Duties:
Supervise positions such as Physical Therapy Assistants, aides, and students/observers. Develop and evaluate treatment plans, maintain documentation, and participate in quality improvement activities. The role may involve handling emergency situations, wearing protective equipment, and working in environments with potential exposure to infectious agents or chemicals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Candidates should possess the ability to perform physical duties with or without accommodations, including lifting loads of up to 50 pounds, making frequent location and position changes, and assisting patients. Strong mobility, stamina, and physical strength are required. Visual and hearing acuity (with correction or assistance) are necessary for effective communication and patient safety. The role demands physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and twisting, with activity conditions ranging from occasional to continuous.
