Job Summary
Performs phlebotomy tasks in a physician office setting, ensuring proper collection of blood samples and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Collects blood samples following proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and provides excellent customer service.
- Prepares and labels specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Ensures proper documentation and record-keeping of all procedures.
- Assists with other clinical tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical laboratory practices, procedures, and terminology.
- Familiarity with lab manuals, formularies, ICD-10 codes, and reference lab procedures.
Certifications/Licensure
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred: Certification as a phlebotomy technician, ASCP board certification or equivalent.
