Performs phlebotomy tasks in a physician office setting, including blood collection and specimen handling.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience: Knowledge of Medical Laboratory practices, procedures, and terminology; familiarity with lab manuals, formularies, ICD-9, and reference lab procedures.
- Certification/Licensure:
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, obtained within ninety days of hire.
- Preferred: Certification from ASCP Board of Registry or equivalent.
Key Duties
- Perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory standards and safety protocols.
