Job Summary
Performs phlebotomy tasks in a physician office setting, ensuring proper collection and handling of blood specimens.
Key Responsibilities
- Collects blood samples accurately and efficiently.
- Adheres to safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintains proper documentation and specimen tracking.
- Supports clinical staff with laboratory procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical laboratory practices, procedures, and terminology.
- Familiarity with lab manuals, formularies, ICD-10, and reference lab procedures.
Certifications and Licensure
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: Certification by ASCP or equivalent, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician credential.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
