Role Overview: Responsible for assisting licensed pharmacists by providing medication and healthcare products to patients with accuracy and efficiency. Tasks include preparing prescriptions, counting and labeling medications, stocking supplies, managing patient profiles, processing insurance claims, and handling customer transactions. Ensures a clean, well-stocked department and complies with HIPAA and legal policies. Supports pharmacists with delegated duties and contributes to store’s financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock and inventory medications and over-the-counter products
- Notify management of supply needs
- Receive prescriptions and refills from patients
- Retrieve, count, package, label, and weigh medications
- Maintain customer profiles and process insurance forms
- Operate cash register accurately, handle transactions, and issue receipts
- Maintain product knowledge and department presentation
- Adhere to legal, safety, and privacy policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the pharmacist
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy-related experience and state registration or certification preferred
- Strong reading, writing, comprehension, and mathematical skills
- Detail-oriented with suggestive selling knowledge
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending, stooping, and twisting. Exposure to varied temperatures and moderate noise levels in a retail environment.
