Pharmacist

Role Overview: The Pharmacist delivers pharmacy support and operations independently, managing scope, quality, and timelines with minimal guidance. They apply comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, communicate effectively with team members and partners, solve problems using established methods, and recommend process improvements. They make independent decisions based on experience and policy, escalating risks as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain valid prescription information from licensed veterinarians or agents.
  • Handle medication orders via calls and faxes, clarifying prescriptions as needed.
  • Dispense medications according to veterinarian prescriptions, ensuring proper labeling and timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensed drugs and prescriptions, and prepare required reports.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for medications and uphold high customer service standards.
  • Provide backup support for other pharmacies and perform cross-training in pharmacy operations such as inventory management, prescription entry, and order processing.
  • Maintain active pharmacist licenses and support multi-state operations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
  • Unrestricted, current pharmacist license in the resident state; licenses for other states as needed.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under volume constraints and resolve customer issues creatively.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, drug interactions, and Microsoft Office tools.
