Role Overview: Provides anesthesia care in the operating room, supporting surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under supervision. Responsible for preoperative evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative follow-up, acting as a patient advocate and liaison between patients, families, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers anesthesia, selects appropriate medications, and monitors patient response.
- Induces, maintains, and adjusts anesthesia levels; manages emergency treatments.
- Assesses patient status, interprets hemodynamic data, and ensures patient stability throughout perioperative phases.
- Prepares the OR with necessary equipment, monitors, and drugs; conducts equipment checks.
- Coordinates with surgical and nursing teams, ensuring patient safety and proper positioning.
- Responds to emergencies such as codes, maintains airway, and provides anesthesia support.
- Documents accurately in patient EMR and safely transports patients post-procedure.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor for staff, residents, and students, sharing expertise.
