Pediatric Oncology Registered Nurse provides compassionate bedside care to children receiving oncology treatments in an acute-care setting.
Key duties:
- Administer medications, vaccinations, blood draws, IV infusions, and transfusions using age-appropriate guidelines
- Monitor vital signs and assess treatment response; report changes promptly
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic tests
- Educate and support patients and families throughout treatment
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
- Document all nursing care accurately and completely
Qualifications/skills:
- Current RN licensure with pediatric oncology experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and transfusion/IV therapy skills
- Excellent communication and family-centered education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced acute-care environment
- Detail-oriented documentation and patient safety focus
