Role: Surgical Technician
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all types of operating procedures by handling surgical instruments, sutures, and sponges, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating surgeons’ needs.
- Prepare for scheduled surgeries by ensuring availability of equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile and safe OR environment, clean rooms, sterilize equipment, and restock supplies.
- Assist with patient transportation, verification, and positioning for surgeries.
- Support as second circulator under RN supervision, contribute to department policies, and participate in training and evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of an accredited surgical technician program or equivalent training/experience.
- Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists is highly desirable.
- 1-2 years of surgical technician experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 5 lbs.
- Call commitment required.
