Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret prescriptions and make professional determinations regarding medications and interactions.
- Process prescriptions received from physicians or patients, reviewing for sensitivities and contraindications.
- Enter patient data to maintain accurate medication profiles and billing information.
- Provide counseling to ensure correct medication use and patient adherence.
- Address formulary issues, suggest substitutes, and coordinate with physicians on drug therapy.
- Supervise pharmacy staff and ensure work accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Consult with healthcare providers about drug information, formulary status, and medication ingredients.
- Prepare special medications, including sterile products and chemotherapeutics, using aseptic techniques.
- Assist in inventory management and pharmacy operations to maintain optimal stock levels.
