Role Overview
Acts as a pharmacist at the retail pharmacy, ensuring accurate and safe medication services by interpreting prescriptions, evaluating drug interactions, and providing counseling to patients and healthcare professionals. Responsible for managing pharmacy operations, supervising pharmacy technicians, and delegating tasks to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Collaborates with physicians on drug therapy, formulary management, and medication optimization. Prepares specialized medications such as compounding, IV admixtures, and chemotherapeutics using aseptic techniques. Assists in inventory management and procurement to maintain optimal stock levels. Ensures compliance with policies, maintains comprehensive medication profiles, and promotes continuous improvement in pharmacy services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required)
- Strong knowledge of medication management, drug interactions, and formulary procedures
- Excellent communication and counseling skills
- Leadership ability to supervise and coordinate pharmacy staff
- Proficiency in preparing sterile and specialized medications
- Ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals and problem-solve routine prescribing issues
