Seeking a skilled nurse to provide care for Life Flight operations, adhering to Act 37 standards and protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering nursing care from initial contact to transfer of the patient to medical facilities.
- Maintaining thorough documentation in electronic medical records.
- Practicing within the scope of practice, maintaining competency through ongoing education.
- Communicating educational needs and participating in safety and safety education programs.
- Managing equipment, supplies, and maintaining aircraft and ground ambulance interiors.
- Serving as a flight crew member, assisting pilots, and participating in pre- and post-mission activities.
- Supporting specialty team transports such as ECMO and NICU, ensuring safety standards during flight.
- Mentoring, precepting new staff, and contributing to performance appraisals.
Qualifications and skills:
- Critical care nursing experience (minimum three years).
- Specialty certification such as CCRN, CEN, CFRN, or CTRN required upon hire; CFRN within one year.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in aircraft environments with exposure to noise, fumes, and variable temperatures.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
This role involves working in dynamic environments, including aircraft and hangar settings, with travel as needed. The position is part-time, with rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
