Role Overview:
This position supports technical lab staff by handling the collection, receipt, and processing of biological specimens. It involves preparing samples for testing and performing waived or limited moderate complexity tests in compliance with CLIA requirements, under supervision. The role ensures all procedures adhere to established policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with specimen handling, processing, and preparation for analysis.
- Perform waived and/or limited moderate complexity testing as authorized.
- Follow policies, procedures, and regulatory standards diligently.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality control.
- Support laboratory operations and troubleshoot basic issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; valid phlebotomy/CLA certification.
- Excellent reading, writing, math, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Basic computer proficiency and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work with interruptions, and problem-solve.
Additional Requirements:
- Relevant certifications, such as phlebotomy/CLA, as per state regulations.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for auto insurance coverage, if applicable.
- Preferred experience includes clinical laboratory work, specimen handling, and knowledge of medical terminology.
