Responsibilities include
Assessing each call to determine appropriate action using advanced protocols Utilizing medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IV fluids Communicating effectively with patients and their families to provide reassurance Leading scene and unit management as a team leader Driving ambulances during emergency responses Collaborating professionally with healthcare and public safety personnel Participating in community outreach programs to enhance community relations
Qualifications include
High school diploma or GED State Paramedic License and Driver’s License Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic Valid driving record and ability to pass a physical agility test Some healthcare experience preferred
