Role Overview: Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care following established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication administration, and post-treatment needs. Ensures patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while participating in professional development. Develops and documents individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team, patients, and families, ensuring effective communication across care continuum. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations. Maintains safety-sensitive responsibilities, working in a constant state of alertness to ensure safety. Qualifications:
RN license required; Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree in nursing; Bachelor’s preferred. No prior experience needed; <2 years preferred for higher qualification. Preferred certifications include chemo certification and oncology experience.
