Role Overview: The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. They lead interdisciplinary teams, manage staffing, coordinate patient flow, and support clinical practices based on evidence-based standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign patients considering acuity and staff capabilities.
- Monitor equipment, resources, and staffing needs; participate in resource planning.
- Conduct patient rounds to evaluate care quality and safety, utilizing peer coaching and corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members for comprehensive patient management.
- Lead clinical initiatives, support performance improvement, and promote evidence-based practices.
- Mentor and precept staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining a healthy work environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards, including safety goals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary communication, documentation, and system processes to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Nursing degree; RN licensure (single-state or multi-state Compact).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; national specialty certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-year nursing experience; 2+ years as relief charge preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in clinical technology and documentation systems.
