Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, prevent disability, and promote patient performance.

Responsibilities include: planning and conducting therapy programs involving exercises, manual techniques, heat, water, light, and electrical treatments; performing diagnostic and functional tests; guiding patients through active/passive exercises, gait training, and use of assistive devices; managing equipment such as ultrasound and diathermy machines; treating wounds; instructing on postural control and therapeutic exercises; documenting patient progress; supervising support staff; and participating in training students and staff.

Qualifications: Requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) post-2015, with licensure as a Physical Therapist. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and pelvic health are required or preferred. Experience expectations include a specified number of years and type of experience, with additional certifications advantageous.

Skills & Key Duties: strong knowledge of therapy techniques, patient assessment, equipment operation, and documentation; ability to develop individualized treatment plans; effective communication; supervision and training capabilities; and adherence to certification and licensure requirements.
