Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed Physical Therapy to alleviate pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
Key Responsibilities: Conducts evaluations, develops personalized therapy programs using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities. Guides patients in active/passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training with equipment such as ultrasound, diathermy, whirlpools, and contrast baths. Assists with postural control, patient education, and device usage. Records patient progress and may supervise assistants, aides, or volunteers. Participates in training medical and nursing staff or students in physical therapy techniques.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), licensure as a Physical Therapist, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional preferred certifications include Pelvic Health. Candidates should have experience in therapy techniques, patient assessment, and use of relevant equipment. Must obtain required certifications/licenses within 90 days if not already held.
