Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed physical therapy to relieve pain, restore function, prevent disability, and improve patient performance following illness or injury.

Responsibilities: Conducts initial evaluations, develops individualized therapy programs using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities. Applies diagnostic tests for muscles, nerves, joints, and functional ability. Guides patients in active/passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training using equipment like ultrasound, diathermy, and generators. Provides patient education on device use, postural control, and therapeutic exercises. Records patient progress for team review and may supervise assistants, aides, or volunteers. Participates in training medical staff and students in therapy techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma (preferred) or higher, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (required after 2015).
  • Experience: Relevant experience with details specified.
  • Certifications: Licensed Physical Therapist, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pelvic Health (preferred), and other relevant licensures/certifications. Must obtain certain certifications within 90 days.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of therapy techniques, equipment operation, patient care, and team collaboration. Excellent communication and instructional skills.
