Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, prevent disability, and promote maximum performance and societal integration following disease, injury, or amputation.

Key Responsibilities: Plan and conduct therapy programs using exercise, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical modalities; perform diagnostic and functional tests on muscles, nerves, and joints; guide patients in active/passive exercises, gait training, and use of assistive devices; record patient progress and re-evaluate as needed; supervise assistants and volunteers; contribute to training medical and nursing students.

Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (post-2015), valid licensure, and certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred qualifications include certification in Pelvic Health. Experience expectations include a minimum of required experience in relevant settings.

Key Skills: Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, diagnostic skills, ability to operate therapeutic equipment, patient education, and team collaboration.

Key Duties: Initial and ongoing patient evaluations, treatment planning, equipment instruction, wound care, and participation in multidisciplinary team activities.
