Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Role Overview: This position involves organizing and delivering medically prescribed Physical Therapy to alleviate pain, restore function, and prevent disability caused by disease, injury, or amputation. The therapist develops individualized therapy plans utilizing physical modalities such as exercise, massage, manual therapy, heat, water, light, and electrical stimulation, as prescribed by a physician. Key duties include conducting diagnostic and functional tests, guiding patients through active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training with equipment like ultrasound and diathermy. They provide patient education on mobility aids, postural control, and therapeutic exercises, document progress, and may supervise staff or train students in physical therapy techniques.

  • Qualifications & Skills: A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required, with licensure as a Physical Therapist. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory, and additional certifications such as Pelvic Health are preferred. Candidates should have relevant experience, with specific years and types of experience preferred but not explicitly specified.
