Oncology/Surgical ICU Registered Nurse

Role Overview

This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized ICU setting, focusing on oncology, surgical, and bone marrow transplant patients. The role includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within established nursing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Promote patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management and post-treatment needs.
  • Participate in activities enhancing patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients/families.
  • Assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and cultural factors.
  • Work in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining constant alertness.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Licenses: Active RN license required.
  • Experience: No experience necessary; 2+ years’ experience preferred for some roles.
  • Preferred: Oncology, surgical, or ICU bedside experience; certifications such as CCRN, OCN, or BMTNC are encouraged.
