Occupational Therapy Assistant

Role & Responsibilities: Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, plans and implements treatment programs for patients across all ages, within an interdisciplinary framework. Supervises positions such as students, volunteers, and observers.

Qualifications & Skills: Requires ability to perform duties with or without accommodations, lift/push/pull loads up to 50 pounds, and assist with patient care. Must have strength, mobility, and stamina for physical activities, and be able to handle emergency situations. Physical requirements include frequent location and position changes, wearing protective gear, and exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.

Physical & Sensory Requirements: Must have corrected vision and hearing capabilities to perform essential functions. Physical activities involve sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and twisting, often frequently or occasionally. May involve irregular hours and exposure to hazards.

Key Duties & Supervisory Scope: Responsible for developing and executing patient treatment plans, supervising students and volunteers, and ensuring adherence to occupational therapy standards.

Additional Conditions: May be exposed to infectious diseases, chemicals, and may need to wear protective equipment. Requires sufficient physical stamina and adaptability to varied activity conditions.
