Role Overview: An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve patients’ daily activities, mobility, cognitive functions, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the care continuum, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and input from patients and families.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
- Collaborate with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment goals and discharge plans.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and educational activities according to departmental standards.
- Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical practices, and follow organizational policies on attendance, dress code, and infection control.
- Engage in professional development, mandatory training, and orientation activities.
- Promote excellent customer service, applying communication principles like AIDET, fostering teamwork, and ensuring positive patient experiences.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification required at hire.
- Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
