Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient addiction medicine team in Taos, NM. No prior addiction experience is required, as training will be provided. The role involves providing comprehensive assessments, prescribing and monitoring Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.


  • Perform patient evaluations, diagnosis, and ongoing management of opioid, alcohol, stimulant, and benzodiazepine use disorders.
  • Administer intramuscular medications and ensure medication adherence and safety.
  • Educate patients on addiction, treatment options, and lifestyle changes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed and participate in quality improvement efforts.

  • Qualifications include a master’s or doctoral degree, active state licensure, and at least one year of clinical experience, preferably in addiction medicine. Strong assessment, communication, and team collaboration skills are essential.
