Role Overview: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) assesses and manages patient care within a designated service, performing physical exams, patient consultations, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct age-appropriate assessments, including history and physical exams, aligned with departmental protocols.
- Gather comprehensive data covering physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive aspects.
- Consult with physicians and clinicians based on patient needs and assessment findings.
- Review medical records, order diagnostic studies, and coordinate care with other providers.
- Foster effective communication within the healthcare team, patients, and families, respecting cultural and ethical beliefs.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, evaluate team care effectiveness, and ensure safety in emergencies.
- Maintain professional accountability, participate in staff development, and adhere to legal and confidentiality standards.
- Engage in quality improvement and research activities, demonstrating a service-oriented approach.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months of nurse practitioner experience, including at least 1 year in women’s health.
- Master’s degree in Nursing with relevant specialization (Adult, Family Practice, or Women’s Health).
- California RN license, Nurse Practitioner certification, and appropriate certifications including BLS and NPI.
- Meet credentialing requirements and apply for PTAN within 30 days of hire.
