Nurse Operating Room Float Pool

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, along with ongoing professional development.
  • Supports a healing environment through education and advocacy, ensuring effective communication across care teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree and RN licensure.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with at least 2 years of experience, especially in neuro, spine, or cardiac care.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills required.
  • This is a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness and safe work practices.
