Role Overview:
The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They will develop and modify individualized care plans, educate patients and families on managing illnesses, and participate in activities promoting patient safety and quality care. The role requires critical thinking, collaboration with healthcare team members, and adherence to nursing standards. This position is safety-sensitive and involves maintaining alertness and safe practices at all times.
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- Completes a nursing program and obtains licensure within 90 days of graduation.
- Uses critical thinking to assess and address physical, psychosocial, and emotional patient needs.
- Develops care plans, evaluates patient responses, and adjusts care accordingly.
- Educates patients on post-treatment care and medication management.
- Participates in activities ensuring safety, quality, and compliance, and engages in professional development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in various nursing specialties such as cardiovascular, behavioral health, critical care, emergency, home care, women’s health, surgical, neurosciences, oncology, operating room, or pediatrics is advantageous. Nurse residency programs and student loan repayment options may be available at select hospitals.
