MRI Technologist – Weekend Nights

Role Overview: MRI Technologists utilize radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, and prepare medications as prescribed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure correct patient identification, proper preparation, and accurate documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety and image quality.
  • Prepare and administer medications through vascular access as ordered, evaluate images for quality, and verify data storage or transfer.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and perform imaging as prescribed.
  • Select pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition needs.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills: Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB with MR specialization is required. Education includes graduation from a Radiologic Technology program, with a preference for a related bachelor’s degree. Work is performed primarily in a clinical environment, adhering to policies and procedures.
