MRI Technologist – Operating Room (OR) – Days (3 x 12’s)

Role Overview:

This position is for a Senior MRI Technologist specializing in Interventional and Surgical MRI procedures within an operating room environment. It involves performing advanced imaging studies on Siemens MRI machines, supporting critical OR cases, and ensuring quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The role includes mentoring new staff and students, contributing to department initiatives, patient experience, and process improvements. The technologist may assume lead responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients and equipment for MRI procedures.
  • Perform studies independently, including portable and on-call exams.
  • Oversee quality assurance programs and ensure regulatory compliance (ACR, JC).
  • Lead safety and quality initiatives, improve patient and staff experiences.
  • Mentor new employees and students.
  • Support department goals related to safety, quality, and process improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate degree or higher in a related field.
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography and/or MRI (R.T.(R)), with 2+ years of experience; MRI experience preferred.
  • Additional certifications like Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Intravenous Therapy are advantageous.
  • Experience in OR or MRI settings is preferred; capable of working in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Additional Details:

  • No call responsibilities.
  • Training on day shifts for approximately 3 months before transitioning to a 3-day rotating schedule.
  • Must work in a safety-sensitive environment, demonstrating alertness and safety awareness.
