Role Overview: Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, ensuring patient safety and image quality. Provides patient care by preparing, positioning, and explaining exams, and performs venous access for IV contrast as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of MRI processes, safety standards, and image protocols.
- Protects patients and staff by adhering to safety guidelines.
- Operates MRI equipment including neuro, body, and extremity scans, following radiologist protocols.
- Manages venous access for contrast administration.
- Inputs data into radiology systems and processes images.
- Identifies anatomy on images and performs equipment quality control.
- Reports equipment issues and collaborates with team members on supply needs.
- Provides radiological support to physicians and acts as a liaison.
- Handles non-controlled medications during procedures.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR, and completion of a specialty training program. Must demonstrate technical proficiency, attention to safety, and effective communication skills.
