Role Overview:
The MRI Technologist I is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures, acquiring and analyzing data for diagnostic purposes, and supporting licensed practitioners. They prepare patients, ensure correct identification, and utilize proper imaging protocols while prioritizing safety and adhering to ALARA principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, prepare patients, and document clinical history with confidentiality.
- Perform or assist with MRI procedures, evaluate image quality, and verify data transfer and storage.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor patient safety, and apply MRI safety principles.
- Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with interventional procedures, and select appropriate pulse sequences.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Candidates must hold certification from ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB (with MR), and have completed a radiologic technology specialty training program. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. The role requires a commitment to excellence, safety, and continuous learning in a clinical environment.
