MRI Technologist

Role Overview: Responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians, performing routine procedures according to established standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients and adjust MRI equipment; position and instruct patients; administer IV contrast media competency.
  • Perform MRI procedures accurately and efficiently, coordinating schedules and assessing exam completion.
  • Assist with staff and student training, orientation, and MRI class preparation.
  • Maintain and document records for patient, equipment, and departmental data, ensuring compliance with accreditation and safety standards.
  • Consult with radiologists and physicians on exam details and protocols; monitor patient condition during contrast injections.
  • Research lab data and ensure proper IV access and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a recognized radiologic or technical program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography; MR certification preferred.
  • Within less than 1 year: thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
  • Strong communication, visual acuity, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
