Medical Surgical RN (PRN) (Days/Nights)

Role Overview:

Provides direct patient care in a post-operative setting, focusing on pre-op and post-op inpatient services for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes patient- and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication administration, and post-treatment needs.
  • Participates in activities to ensure patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the care team, patients, and families to ensure effective communication across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.
  • Works in a safety-sensitive role, maintaining constant alertness and safe practices.

Qualifications:

  • RN license required.
  • Nursing diploma or associate’s degree in nursing, with preferred bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience.
  • No prior experience necessary, but supervision experience is not required.
